Andy
Viola, Vocals
Bio
Day job:
Executive director for a regional chamber of commerce
Background:
"I started learning to play the viola when I was 4, and played until I was around 17. I took a break because I wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I got good enough at strumming chords to get my wife to dig me, but that is about as far as that went. I picked up the viola again and wanted to learn how to improvise. A couple of bluegrass classes later, and I was jamming with friends. I bought an amp and pickup, which led to some fun creating new sounds with pedals. I got to know Alaina through work, and became friend with her and Aaron. After a little jamming together, he invited me to join the group, and we've been playing together since."
Favorite bands/composers:
Pixies, Beatles, Stone Temple Pilots, Mendelssohn, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Ween, Stereolab, Led Zeppelin, John Zorn, Marc Ribot
Fun fact:
"I like the taste of Bourbon the best, but tequila makes me feel better. I have too many hobbies and being part of the band keeps me focused on music and getting better."
